The Trustmarque Group is thrilled to announce its continued sponsorship of York Pride for the second consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Following the success of its sponsorship in 2023, Trustmarque Group is delighted to once again support York Pride, scheduled to take place on 01 June 2024. As an organisation with deep roots in York, Trustmarque Group recognises the importance of standing alongside the LGBTQIA+ community and advocating for equal visibility and rights.
“We are delighted to announce our sponsorship of York Pride for the second year running,” said Vivienne Williamson, Client Director and Encircle DEI Committee Chairperson, at the Trustmarque Group. “Building on the success of our partnership last year, we are eager to continue our support for this important event, which celebrates diversity and allyship, promotes intersectionality, and raises awareness about LGBTQIA+ issues.”
In addition to sponsorship, Trustmarque Group is actively encouraging colleagues from across the organisation to participate in the York Pride parade or support as marshals. The company believes that by actively engaging in events like York Pride, they can demonstrate their commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all employees, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
According to recent statistics, there are approximately 4 million LGBTQIA+ individuals in Britain, with nearly a quarter of a million residing in Yorkshire alone. Trustmarque Group recognises the significance of these numbers and is dedicated to making a meaningful difference within the LGBTQIA+ community, particularly in its hometown of York.
“The York Pride parade is not just a celebration; it’s a powerful platform for highlighting the visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community and addressing important issues,” added Chloe Picton, Marketing Propositions and Events Manager, and Encircle DEI Committee Events Lead. “York boasts one of the most vibrant and interconnected queer communities, and we are honoured to support and stand in solidarity with them.”
